Online Aquarium Stores

As setting up the new aquarium has involved a bunch of new equipment I have been looking online for the gear. This is less about price and more about choice. The online stores simply have a better range of gear and I am able to check out information online about the equipment before purchasing.

I bought two batches of gear, one from Age of Aquariums  and the other from Aquarium Supplies Australia. To be honest I was a bit dubious buying the gear from Age of Aquariums as their website looks a little shabby, but in the end they had the better pricing and figured I shouldn’t have to many problems as they were based in Australia.

I was surprised, the bigger order sent to Age of Aquariums made up of lights, fluro tubes, regulator, PH Controler and a few other bits and pieces, arrived first, 3 days after I placed the order online. Aquarium Supplies Australia were sending a a Red Sea root therm and bubble counter, this took two weeks to ship to me.

On the whole the Aquarium Supplies Australia web store is much better as you can track your order, but tracking is just a nicety I would much rather get the gear early. The tracking did let me see that it took them just over a week to despatch the order, I assume they were waiting on stock themselves.

Both stores sent me exactly what I wanted and I am guessing that any aquarium store in Melbourne would have had to order the equipment in and charged me extra for it as well.
