Last weekend the Albert Sailing Club held its Annual General Meeting. On the whole it is a pretty sedate afair. While we didn’t have any of the committee positions contested we do have a committee full of dedicated people.
I have been on the committee for a number of years, mainly working behind the scenes. Last year I was the Club Captain, basically looking after the racing side of things at the club. This year I have stepped up to the position on rear commodore. For those people who don’t know the structure of yacht clubs, the rear commodore is third in command (behind the commodore and vice commodore). The rear commodore’s role is to look after the sailing activities of the club.
It looks like it is going to be a good year as the club strengthening its position in the last couple of years. Hopefully we will continue this good fortune and continue building our great club.
