I am hoping to show off a photo each Friday. This photo is of the rear cluster of my road bike, just after I had the rear cluster and chain replaced. The photo was converted from color to black and white using The Gimp.

Apple damned if they do, damned if they don’t

People were pissed off after Apple’s last press release were they ‘only’ released the intel Mac Minis, the iPod hifi and some iPod case. The press justifiably was disappointed about the release claiming that it wasn’t worth travel to the Cupertino campus. Now Apple has been quiet about the 30th anniversary announcement, and we have the reverse situation.

People are getting upset that Apple isn’t hyping the 30th Anniversary product release. What is Apple suppose to do?

I am guessing that Apple will have a couple of 30th Anniversary branded items. Adam Engst on the podcast suggested an iPod in Apple’s original striped colors. I don’t know if Apple will do that exact thing but I think he might be onto something. My prediction: Mac Mini for $666.

Photo Books For PC Users

I have produced a couple of photo books using iPhoto. The books look fantastic and are a beautiful way to present your photos. Obviously not everyone has a Mac and such a simple way to produce these books. In Australia, Apple doesn’t provide photo printing services, and the printing is handled by in Adelaide.

For the PC user I have found a similar service. On the PC you need both the software and someone to print and bind the book for you. The one company that I have found that can do this is . I haven’t used Momento, but it looks like a very similar service and pricing to the Digital Da Vinci once. In fact there are a couple of options such as cover sleeves and embossing from Momento which are not available from Digital Da Vinci.

If these books are even half as good as the Digital Da Vinci ones they make a fantastic coffee table book and are an excellent way to preserve you memories.

I have decided to rebuild Tupps.com. Now days all of my ‘commercial’ work is at ltconsult.com.au so tupps.com needed a renewed focus towards my personal stuff.

Previously everything was running under Mambo/Joomla and it is a bit cumbersome for a personal site. So I ripped pretty much everything out and moved to wordpress. Like all people launching new sites/blogs I have high hopes of updating this on a regular basis but we will see how that goes.
